The session will be 10 weeks long, beginning the first Thursday in September and ending in the middle of November. We'll have an end-of-the-year party the week before Thanksgiving.
We will meet weekly on Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM with a total of 2 classes and a 30 minute break (for the students to play, talk or eat a snack) between.
Below some of the classes and their descriptions are list.
Book Club: Designed for grades 3-5 to read and discuss an age appropriate book. The class will also create projects and crafts based on the books.
Canvas Art: This art class focuses on painting on to canvas. This class is open to students in K5 to 5th grade.
Mixed Media Art: An art class that focuses on using various mediums, such as wood or magazines to create art. This class is open to students in K5 to 5th grade.
Acting 101: This class will learn about the techniques in creating a small stage play. The students will also learn an entire, age appropriate play. This class is open to students age 5 and up.
Baking: This class will teach older students how to make various baked goods, as well as a few dessert decoration techniques. This class is open to students in grades 6 to 12.
Art Techniques: In this class, students in grades 6th to 12th will have an opportunity to learn how to use various mediums, such as pencil, water color, acrylic, or oil paints, to make a unique piece of art.
Handwork: This class will have two parts. In the first 5 weeks the students will learn knitting through various hands-on projects. In the second 5 weeks students will learn how to dye yarn and silk using various techniques with both natural and synthetic dyes.
Spanish 2: Lessons in conversational Spanish. This class is open to students aged 8+ who are able to read and write independently.
STEM: This class is open to students in all grades. The students will create various projects, complete experiments, demonstrations or complete various lessons that pertain to either Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
Google-Fu: This class is for students in grades 6th-12th. In this class students will get a course in how to use Google applications to complete various projects.
Mythology: This class will teach students about different mythologies from around the ancient world. For students in grades 6th -12th.
